My newborn sessions are all about capturing the delight of welcoming a new life and all the little details that come with it from the squishy little cheeks through to the little button nose.

The moment this little miracle appears in your life everything changes and while it’s often a little overwhelming in the beginning, routine quickly sets in and before you know it that little bundle of baby has grown up.

This is what newborn photography is all about! Capturing these precious moments before they become a fading memory. And while you flick through the pages of your baby’s album marvelling at all those little details, you can nearly feel the softness of your baby’s skin, that delightful newborn smell and it’s almost as if you were taken back in time to experience the sweetness of these moments once again!

When to book your newborn session?

I recommend booking your newborn session while you are still pregnant, ideally between your 12th and 20th week of pregnancy. I can only take a certain number of newborn bookings each month, therefore it’s best to secure your space in advance to avoid disappointment. Your session will be secured basing on your due date, reserving your session slot for several weeks prior and past that due date. This way I can offer you flexibility for baby’s early or late arrival and you won’t have to stress about missing your session’s date if your baby decides to stay put a little longer. If you’re further along or your baby has already arrived don’t worry and just send over an enquiry. I will check the diary for availability for you and chances are I will be able to offer you a session slot.

When will my session take place?

Newborn babies are best photographed between their 5th and 14th day of life. This is when they are so super cuddly and happy to sleep for longer stretches, which allows posing them so easily without disturbing their natural cycle. They still prefer to rest curled up remembering their time spent in the womb so all the curled up poses are achievable in this short time frame before they start to stretch and explore their little bodies’ abilities. (It is important to set aside the time to secure a session?)

What does a newborn session include at "Monika Sani Photography "?

My newborn sessions include: * pre-consultations prior to your session * 3-4 hour session slot reserved for your newborn session * stylish selection of hand picked prop setups of your baby’s photo session * collection of beautiful family and sibling portraits tailored perfectly to your preferred style of photography

Where does the session take place?

At my lovley studio In Swindon Wiltshire. SN2 2AZ

What is the difference between the studio styled and a lifestyle newborn session?

Life style newborn sessions are absolutely perfect when it comes to capturing that natural connection between you, your baby and your family, especially if you’re not that keen on posing. This session is best booked between the 5th and 18th day of baby’s life and it’s also done at the comfort of your home. Newborn lifestyle sessions usually take about 1-2 hours as there’s no baby posing involved. Instead, it’s focus is placed on capturing your family’s natural interactions and all the emotions around welcoming that precious new soul into your family.

Good to know

I always allocate up to 4 hours for each newborn session, and although it may seem a like a lot of time, it’s ideal to make sure we don’t have to rush or stress and we can work around baby’s needs, feeds, cuddle time and natural sleeping cycle. I normally only book one newborn shoot a day. This way I can ensure we can take all the time we need to get those timeless bespoke images and create a truly captivating gallery of photographs for your family.
